ripe and well-layered nose combines notes of various dark berries with those of spice

and it shows more of an emphasis on tannin than fruit

In 2016 this excellent effort is more Nuits than Vosne in style

Vergelegen, V Vintage:2013 Note that this should drinkA blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% each of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot, the 2013 V starts with focused red and black fruits on the nose with integrated oak. The palate shows control and balance with rusticity. The finish is tight and reminiscent of a Super Tuscan with a full bodied expression that will age for decades.
