Description
Lucien Le Moine, Volnay Caillerets other_regions_italyReduction masks the underlying fruit though does not extend to the palate of the much, much finer if decidedly less powerful flavors that exude evident minerality and underlying tension before culminating in a bitter cherry infused finish. I like the depth though the dusty finish is somewhat short at present. Note that my predicted range assumes that the length will sort itself out. (89 92) 2029+
There is enough reduction present to render the nose impossible to fairly assess at present
potentially long-lived wine
the 2012 Siepi is a beautiful wine that bursts open with enormous fruit intensity and purity
Pol Roger's 2012 Brut Blanc de Blancs is terrific
Coming in at more than 70% Cabernet Franc—and aged in 50% new French oak—the 2019 Cerro Sur Red Wine is vaguely herbal
plum and spicy oak
like quince peel
and the wine was matured for 18 months in 45% new French oak
the other 10% is Cabernet Franc
but a moderate Cheval Blanc is the right way to state things here
Closes with subtle tannic grip
Vibrant ruby-red
