When I was little we went to Indiana, to West Beach one day a year during the summer. I remember hiding in the dunes, crying when it was time to leave, knowing I wouldnt see water and sand that stretched like that for another whole year. Even as a little girl, it was like I needed that expansive balance of water meeting land. Looking out over it all from the top of a dune I would
