Pine Ridge, Fortis Cabernet Sauvignon Vintage:2013

Description
Pine Ridge, Fortis Cabernet Sauvignon Vintage:2013The other 2013 offered in my tasting was the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Fortis, which is a blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec and 3% Merlot. An absolutely spectacular offering from Pine Ridge and one of their all time great Cabernet Sauvignons, this prodigious blend has an inky purple color to the rim and a gorgeous nose of charcoal, asphalt, graphite, blueberry, blackberry and cassis, while not a trace of oak seems to make it through. The wine
is sourced from small parcels scattered around Cuis with northeast exposures
Yields are 34 hectolitres per hectare
Drink it now until 2025+
placing cedary aromas around bright red-berry aromas
(vinified with 90% whole clusters)
the composition has changed and includes the six grands crus and the premiers crus of Gaudichots
it can be drunk any time over the coming 10-15 years
this is very harmonious
100 cases were made of the 2016 Bishop Creek Pinot Noir
a varietal indigenous to Bierzo
It is just a case of waiting for the nose to open because the palate really shows the potential here
reflecting a quite sunless summer season
